Hot Water Recycling

After steam generated from a boiler is used, it returns as hot water known as boiler drain. By filtering boiler drain while still hot and reusing it as boiler feed water, you can significantly reduce fuel costs for heating the water.

Required Performance for Hot Water Recycling

High Heat Resistance

If filtration can be done at higher temperatures, the fuel cost of the boiler can be reduced accordingly. Kuraray's hollow fiber membrane products are available with heat resistance up to 90°C.

Compatibility with High-SS Wastewater

Boiler drains often contain iron rust in the piping and require filtration of high-SS wastewater. Kuraray products allow direct filtration and recycling of high-SS and high-temperature boiler drains.

High Water Recovery Rate

Kuraray's proprietary air-backwash technology eliminates the use of permeate for backwashing, thereby reducing the amount of wastewater generated.
